Solar Eclipse Travel Experiences
A total solar eclipse is one of the rare moments in nature that truly feels otherworldly. For a few minutes, the moon passes directly between the Earth and the sun, casting a shadow that transforms daylight into twilight.
The sky darkens, the temperature drops, and a glowing halo — the sun’s corona — becomes visible around the moon.
Because total eclipses are visible only within a narrow path across the Earth, many travelers choose to journey to the best viewing locations. In recent years, cruise lines and specialty tour companies have begun designing trips specifically around these events.
On Wednesday, August 12th of this year, there will be a total solar eclipse visible from areas across Greenland, western Iceland (including Reykjavik), and northern Spain and the Balearic Islands. At its longest, the eclipse will last two minutes and 18 seconds.
